The 2600 square foot house has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and a pool. For those of you in other parts of the world where real estate is sky high, the asking price will make you weep...$225,000. Here are several more photos to amaze, delight and tempt.
If you're local (or if you'd move to Texas for this house) and want to know more about the listing, email me for details.
UPDATE (3/4/13): The house sold the first day it was on the market, which should come as no surprise. Now stay tuned for more news about the upcoming sale of the contents.
House? For sale?!
ReplyDeleteContents? For sale?!
Agog here.
I thought I'd scheduled the post for Friday...duh! Imagine my surprise this morning to find my 1-sentence post! Now that I've finished writing it and adding photos, you're really going to be agog!
DeleteDrooling...
ReplyDeleteI hope you check back. I've added many drool-worthy photos!
DeleteThe RW collection and bullet plantesr are on my purchase list!
ReplyDeleteI seriously covet the RW collection, but I know how much time and effort Hiram has put into finding all those pieces. I told him the other day that he should keep them, and I'm fairly certain he will. Still, there are so many I'd love to own!
DeleteI'd consider moving to Texas for that place! At 225k, it's a steal compared to what you'd pay even in St. Louis and we are renowned for our cheap real estate. Can you send me the deets?
ReplyDeleteIt's nice living in a place where the cost of living is still pretty reasonable, isn't it? :)
DeleteYes it is. I don't know how people ever own property in some of the bigger cities. You can buy a house in a really nice area of downtown St. Louis for like 120k that'd cost millions just about anywhere else.
DeleteWoo Hoo Nick, C'mon down!
ReplyDeleteWe'd show him all the sights, wouldn't we, Mick?
DeleteWow, Dana.
ReplyDeleteWhile it's not my taste, it's amazing!
It's going to be a dream home for some lucky person.
It truly is. Someone is going to be thrilled with this house!
DeleteAwesome house and I love the furnishings. I actually really do want the vanity stool in the bathroom with white bottom. What is that? Maybe I can find online. I actually want two maybe. And I want the Herman Miller bench (is it vintage or new or copy) at the end of one of the beds. I noticed the RW collection right off the bat. What piece is that? It looks like many of the same one in different colors. I like that idea. My Bauer is different things in different colors and I was thinking of selling the other colors and focusing on Chartreuse. But maybe same thing different colors would be better. See how I spend my lunch hour?
ReplyDeleteI think you just fell in love with the Knoll tulip stool...and what's not to love? The RW you're talking about may be the gorgeous, svelte Iroquois Casual carafe. I have one in ripe apricot. Hiram actually has completed mini collections in several colors. It looks like he has nutmeg, sugar white, cantaloupe, charcoal, ripe apricot, lemon (or maybe avocado yellow), powder blue (or maybe ice blue), pink sherbet and lettuce.
DeleteI've decided to keep my Ben Seibel Iroquois Harvest Time abd my RW ripe apricot, sell all my avocado yellow and then start to collect sugar white and oyster...and maybe a little charcoal. The hunt is never over.

DeleteNever. I have an important question. The Knoll Tulip stool, how much, and would anyone ship to their friendly neighborhood blogger? I will email you too.
DeleteWhat an amazing place for $225,000! Similar MCMs around here in Tampa would easily be double that price. Those guys have some seriously great taste in furniture and decor and an eye for putting it all together. Looks like your going to be acquiring some very nice pieces soon!
ReplyDeleteYes, they have amazing taste and a tremendous amount of talent. Andrew is an artist (and is on the faculty at the Art Institute), and many of their pieces are his work, while some were done by his friends and colleagues.
DeleteWow, I'm spotting some great art pieces! So much lovely furniture too. What a house! Wouldn't mind that pool area- and the weather to go with it:-)
ReplyDeleteEverything about their house is so carefully curated and so tastefully done. Andrew's talent as an artist is amazing, and Hiram has such an eye for decorating...and such a green thumb. He gets the credit for the plants.
DeleteWOW! The house is great, and at a really great price, but the collection of Russel Wright furniture is overwhelming!
ReplyDeleteThey have one of the nicest RW collections I've ever seen. Everywhere I look, I see things I wish I had room for.
DeleteYou wouldn't get a one bedroom apartment for that here! Seriously!
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of cities here too where that wouldn't buy you a shack. We're lucky that the cost of real estate here has remained fairly stable...and affordable.
Deletetotally awesome..having moved back to india...i miss such sales...thanks for sharing..and the price seems so grounded, given the real estate prices in india :(
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you, Sudha. I guess that sweet boy is keeping you from doing much blogging. I can't think of a better reason to stay off the computer! :)
DeleteYes, I want to weep. Everything about it is weep-worthy.
ReplyDeleteI know it must be unbelievable for those of you in high-dollar real estate markets to see houses like this for such low prices.
