My SIL grew up with his dad doing full-blown Griswold Christmases, so I have a feeling we'll have that too as the boys get older. Our weather is crazy too. It was 80 degrees yesterday...27 tonight. I'd like to go super Griswold with the decorating one year just for fun. We haven't put out outdoor lights up yet - hopefully this weekend. Even though its summer here now, and we were sweltering hot the other day, its already back to freezing cold here in Melbourne and my winter coat is on - madness!!Donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06693974265362278188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9087940973013594269.post-3725234401563848422013-12-04T21:40:56.071-06:002013-12-04T21:40:56.071-06:00Your front door looks awesome wearing its baubled ...Your front door looks awesome wearing its baubled wreath Dana. Here in the U.S., people have started decorating earlier and earlier...sometimes before Thanksgiving, which drives me crazy. You'll have a great time in NYC for Christmas!Dana@Mid2Modhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03055460107477850683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9087940973013594269.post-55858060798805029542013-12-04T15:47:00.718-06:002013-12-04T15:47:00.718-06:00Oh, the Griswalds!!! Over here, most people don't put up the tree before the evening of the 23rd, and we have our big Christmas dinner and get our presents the next evening. This year we won't have a tree. My pilot husband has a five day layover in NYC and we decided to go with him. So Christmas will be a bit different this time, and the boys are so excited!tovehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12181574311574113584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9087940973013594269.post-2828934386998924212013-12-04T10:26:44.700-06:002013-12-04T10:26:44.700-06:00The other eleven months of the year, I'm not m...The other eleven months of the year, I'm not much of a bling bling person, but during December, the shinier the better, especially now that I have grandsons. They love the color and lights so much. The inside of the main house has so many flashing lights that it looks like a disco. :)Dana@Mid2Modhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03055460107477850683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9087940973013594269.post-7474348738916531252013-12-04T10:22:26.697-06:002013-12-04T10:22:26.697-06:00I know what you mean about the leaves. A few days ago, my daughter spent hours blowing leaves and getting the yard looking perfect. We got a hard rain that night, and wet leaves were plastered several inches deep the next morning on everything...the ground, the cars, the lawn furniture. As soon as they dried out, my SIL had to do the job all over again. By the weekend, we'll need to do it again. It's definitely Grinch-making! :)Dana@Mid2Modhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03055460107477850683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9087940973013594269.post-82844547414646478282013-12-04T10:20:51.056-06:002013-12-04T10:20:51.056-06:00I like your deco. How well I remember the downside of that! :)Dana@Mid2Modhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03055460107477850683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9087940973013594269.post-42102286710497245072013-12-04T08:17:52.075-06:002013-12-04T08:17:52.075-06:00Every time I see that orange door it makes me happ...Every time I see that orange door it makes me happy! A festive Christmas wreath makes it even better.
I'm so happy someone (meaning not me yet) is getting into the Christmas spirit. It's one of my favorite things about blogs this time of year -- is when you share your Christmas decor and traditions. SO FUN!

OMG, Dana... the leaves... the leaves drive me crazy. Richie blew and mowed this past weekend and it looked so clean and crisp and perfect and it lasted for about 6 hours. The next day it was all back, but maybe more. We actually cut our crepe myrtle trees early so all those leaves don't fall EVERYWHERE! It's so frustrating, isn't it. FALL ALREADY!!! Maybe that's why I'm such a Christmas grinch! Ha Ha Ha! Love your little tree. They are nice reminders of the past before everything was plastic from China. Of course there are real ones that come with their own built in fire danger.Bill Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14649212489891769390noreply@blogger.com
