Never run out of soap

At the beginning of my teaching career 40 years ago, I had the privilege to meet a wonderful old gentleman who had been a teacher, a principal and a school superintendent before retiring. When I asked him for one piece of advice to carry into the classroom, he said, "When you're standing in front of a room full of teenagers, never run out of soap." He went on to explain what he meant. If I ran out of lesson before I ran out of class time, I'd darn well better come up with something else to say.

The same advice surely applies to writing a blog, but it seems that just as I think I've run out of anything to say, we find another chair or another piece of pottery that just begs for research. So off I go again, learning something new that I can share with you and hoping to learn more from you in return.

Such was the case once more when my SIL found a pair of Erik Wørts chairs the other day that he's considering buying. I had never heard of Wørts, and I couldn't find much biographical information on him, but I did find some pictures of his designs, most done in teak or rosewood and often with cane and leather.

Anyone know anything else about Wørts, aside from the fact that he designed for Niels Eilersen, Kjellerup Møbelfabrik and Henrik Wørts Møbelsnedkeri from the 1950s through the 1970s?

    Heh, I always feel like I'm right up to last of my "Soap"! Keeps me frosty. I'm sittin' here right now pondering what I might shoot tomorrow morning. ::shrugg::

    These are so beautiful! I love the dining set, but I honestly think the chairs your SIL is looking at are my favorites. They look so timeless.
    Also, I know probably 4% of what you do, so I'm not helpful there.
