In the store: Sofas...whew!

We sold the last sofa on the floor the other day, and I was starting to stress a little about how we were going to restock, because sofas are generally the hardest thing for us to find, and our local Craigslist was turning up nothing. Oh, me of little faith!

Faith in my SIL, that is. He jumped in his truck and headed south to check out a listing in another city...a city where he has several excellent contacts. He bought the cool sectional sofa he'd found on CL (which bears a slight resemblance to a couple of the Peter Hvidt pieces I posted about the other day), but he also made a few calls and managed to locate a Danish settee and another unbelievable Adrian Pearsall sofa that had recently been beautifully reupholstered.

Amazing. Simply amazing. The seating and my SIL.

  1. Oooh I love that sectional. The cane sides, the upholstery. Is the corner curved, or is that just the picture perspective?

That Adrian Pearsall is nice too.

  3. This is maddening! How come your end of the world gets all the cool CL stuff and mine gets zero?? I would take the first or the third sofa, no problem!!!!

  4. @Monogirl: The outer corner of the cushion is a 90 degree angle, but the inside of the corner cushion is curved. It's very cool.

  5. @Barbara: You're just going to have to rent a UHaul and come to Texas. That's all there is to it! :)

  8. @I dream lo-tech: It's my favorite piece in the store right now, but I suppose that comes as no surprise, since I'm a Pearsall junkie.

  11. I am desperate to purchase the cane sectional sofa above. Any idea who the designer was?

  12. @Lisa Ortiz: That sofa wasn't marked, and we never figured out who designed it. I do know that Peter Hvidt designed many cane-sided sofas, but we never found any evidence he designed that particular one. We sold it within days of putting it in the store.
