In the store: Stackin' it deep

The store is full of new things...so many, in fact, that we haven't been able to take a picture of all of them. I'll give you a peek at a few pieces, and there will be more to come in a few days.

Desk, with Magnus Olesen chair
Glass front teak bookcase
Teak credenza
Teak room divider with dropfront bar
Teak corner cabinet
Burke dining table and armchairs

In a few days, I'll have photos of a great 10-foot sofa, a cute little blue fiberglass Herman Miller rocker and a beautiful set of two step tables and corner table with travertine tops, just to name a few.

  1. You mentioned that your sil was planning a buying expedition; is this a part of that trip? That corner cabinet is very cool.

  2. @1950sarh: Thanks, but I have to give the credit to my SIL. At first he asked my advice, but he's developed such a good eye...and so many contacts here and out of state...that most of his purchases are as big a surprise to me as they are to you now.

  3. @bopfish: He goes to so many auctions and to so many cities to find pieces that I have trouble keeping up with where he gets things. I think these are auction finds, except for the Burke set, which I know he got on a buying trip, because I went with them on that one. Most of the things we still need to photograph are from buying trips, I think.

  4. Beautiful pieces. The credenza and the teak corner cabinet are the ones that caught my eye from this set of photos.

  5. WOW. That desk and room divider are so fantastic. I am so wowed that your clever daughter and SIL can find such fantastic pieces so frequently.

  6. Beautiful! Every single piece. I adore the Burke set. I'm curious to know what that will sell for in your store. Think I'll do a virtual hop on over there and check it out.

  7. I want that credenza! Or the corner cabinet. Or... all of it. They are all in such great shape - love 'em.

  8. @Tanya: They amaze me too. Joe really is giving it his all to make the store a success...all while taking care of the boys. That's pretty incredible!

  9. @Midcenturymadam: I think he has it at an unbelievably low price, but that's what he does when he gets a good deal...passes it along to his customers.

  10. @DearHelenHartman: I love 'em all too. I wish I could find a place for that desk or the bookcase in my house.

  11. I agree Dana. That is a very good price. I'm thinking it won't last long.

  12. Everything looks amazing! It's so wonderful that you always have such nice inventory. I'm sure it gives your shop a reputation that is impeccable. The only shop we have near us that is reliably spectacular also has reliably spectacularly high prices... The rest are pretty hit or miss, so it feels smarter to just thrift. Please come open a shop here!

  13. @adriane: Thanks! Sometimes we get a little antsy when inventory gets light, but we'd rather work harder and drive farther to find great pieces than put things on the floor that we wouldn't put in our own homes.

  14. @Midcenturymadam: We listed it Wednesday, and already someone is seriously looking at it.
