It's beginning to look somewhat like Christmas...

...at least in the CB2 mid-century snow globe I bought for myself the other day. Thanks to Justin at Mid-Century Austin Living for posting about the globe, because I hadn't seen it. As soon as I read his post, I rushed to the CB2 site and ordered one.

The snow globe  is large...8" high...and contains a smaller version of the CB2 Neville House, complete with bright yellow 50s fireplace (like the orange one we have in the store). It is utter mid-century holiday fun...and with weather forecast in the 50s and 60s next week for North Central Texas, this is probably as close to snow as I'll come.

Oh, and did I mention that it was marked down from $39.95 to $19.95, and shipping was free? :)

  1. I LOVE That tiny yellow fireplace. Just the thing to keep the snow off the roof.

  3. @DearHelenHartman: I love the little fireplace so much that I'm tempted to buy the Neville House too, even though I have absolutely nowhere to put it. So far I've resisted, but I'm forcing myself to stay away from the CB2 site as much as possible till the urge passes. :)

  4. @Tanya: Only if you'll take some of out heat next July and August...and I think I already know your response to that. ;)

  6. @Beatrice: The sale price and free shipping was just icing on the cake. I would have bought it at any price. :)

  7. So glad to hear you like the snow globe. It looks even better in your non-catalog-y photos. I'm staying away from the CB2 site these days too so I don't end up with the Neville House in my home.
(P.S thanks for the shout out/link.)

  8. @Justin: Sounds like we need to start a 12 Step program for Neville Houses. :)
