Heeeeeeeeere's Gus

After much deliberation and discussion about the direction he wants to take the store, my SIL has decided to add a line of mid-century inspired contemporary furniture. We will mix vintage furniture with the new modern and help customers achieve a unique look for their homes.

We're proud and very excited to announce that Mid2Mod will be the only dealer of Gus* Modern furniture in Dallas...with only three other dealers in Texas.

Here's a quick look at just a few of the pieces we will be carrying.

Spencer Loft Bi-Sectional sofa
Carmichael sofa
Atwood chair
Timber table

    1. I wasn't sure I'd like the Timber table, but I really love it. The picture doesn't do it justice.

    1. I like that the entire line just hints of classic mid-century design, rather than mimics it. We've combined vintage pieces with the Gus pieces in every one of our displays, and it looks fabulous.

  3. The Atwood chair is my favorite. I can just see a man in a black suit and skinny black tie sitting it in with a cocktail in one hand and a smoke in the other.

    1. Everyone who has been in the store so far has loved the Atwood chair.. It's gotten more comments than any other piece. And you're right...I can picture that too.

  4. Great choice. I was recently looking at their counter stools for our apartment. I don't know why I didn't get them, oh yeah...because I got distracted by some lamps or something. I love the Carmichael sofa.

  8. We have a consigned BoConcept sofa bed and ottoman in our store and it mixes great with my Heywood Wakefield pieces. Clean lines and neutral fabrics would let someone use anywhere in a MCM home. I think the Gus is a great idea!

    1. It also solves the problem of those "dry" times when we can't find sofas...or any particular piece. We like to set up complete groupings, and we're always heavy (or light) on one item or another. Now if we have tons of chairs and tables but no sofas, that's not a problem.

    2. I can appreciate that aspect of keeping your floor somewhat balanced. I can't keep a danish dining room in stock and uphostery to match with my H/W pieces are problematic although I'm going to pick up a nice MCM loveseat this weekend that will work great! I'm also working my but off to refinsih some bedroom pieces as we as under represented in that area! Congrats on the new location!
