In the store: Doria light fixture

This gorgeous vintage Doria light fixture was a recent estate sale find. It wasn't cheap, but my SIL fell in love with it at first sight and had to have it at the store. He and I hung it over his desk a few days ago, but when I wrote this post, he hadn't put a price tag on it yet.

He'll sell it eventually. In the meantime, he's just enjoying looking at it hanging over his head. I'm sure everyone who has a store runs across pieces he hates to see go, and this is one of his favorites.

  1. That's an amazing light fixture. I've never seen anything like it (not that I'm an authority on light fixtures but I am old enough to have seen a little of everything!).

    1. I had never seen one like it either. It's huge and so, so pretty! In fact, it's much prettier in person than we can capture with the camera.

    1. One like this would look great over a staircase, but unfortunately, the estate sale people knew what it was and priced it accordingly, so we can't pass along much of a bargain to our customers.

  6. I'm sure you will price this accordingly! Really nice and likely rare. We had a pair of stunning Lightolier chandeliers last year that we probably under priced, but still did well on. I really would have loved to have taken one home...All us store owners always have to part with pieces we love...:(

    1. Yes, there's still an orange Richard Schultz daybed and a cream colored Adrian Pearsall sofa that I miss. :(

  7. Stunning! I would never be able to sell that lamp if i had it in my possession. Yet another one-of-a-kind mid2mod find.

    1. I said to my SIL last night, "You really don't want to sell it, do you?" He said, "Awwwww...not yet. I still want to enjoy it for a while." I was pretty sure that's how he felt. :)
