We got the new door/window signs installed. The ones we had at the old store were on the inside of the glass, and the company we went with this time said they could only make signs with clear backgrounds that install inside. While I think they look fine, my SIL doesn't like them, so these are coming down as soon as he can order new ones from the company we used before.
Our main sign will be on the new awning we're having made. I'll post photos of that when it's finished.

We added four more chairs to our inventory...two fully restored Ib Kofod-Larsen chairs exactly like the ones we had a few months ago, only this time with orange nubby upholstery fabric instead of a neutral. They provide a beautiful pop of color. (I used my new air stapler when I recovered the seats, and it was fantastic! More about that later.)

We also have a pair of Eames
La Fonda chairs, which were originally designed for the La Fonda del Sol restaurant in New York that was decorated by Alexander Girard.

Additionally, we completed our Fabpat wall. We've hung a sample of the prints and colors available both in the brick and mortar store and in Jenn's Etsy store. Stay tuned for exciting news about Fabpats being featured on fab.com.

Great! I really love your logo/signage, well, for that matter, your blog masthead. So apt. Wish I could visit your shop one day.
ReplyDeleteThe Eames' La Fonda chairs are awesome, I bet they'll sell in a snap!
I think my daughter did a great job designing the logo. It lends itself to a number of color combinations that I like very much.
DeleteI'd love for you to visit the store someday. I enjoy meeting friends from the blogosphere and finally putting a real person to the name and the photos.
Your new signs look great...I wish I was in the area so I could stop in and peruse/drool. Those Ib Kofod-Larsen chairs are totally drool-worthy.
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with the last Kofod-Larsen chairs we had and never thought we'd have another pair so soon. They're even more gorgeous in person!
DeleteI've been meaning to tell you how much I love your logo. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! My daughter is creative coordinator and webmaster for a large urban school district, and she does our design work. I'll pass your comment on to her.
DeleteLa Fonda, our favourite - but we're more interested in hearing about your first upholstery project, which, by the way, looks like it was a complete success!
ReplyDeleteI haven't really done any honest-to-goodness upholstering yet. I've been recovering chair seats for 40 years (since I was a newlywed and got hand-me-down furniture), so I don't count that. I will say, however, that I've thrown away all my hand staplers. I never thought I'd be in love with a tool, but my new air stapler has won my heart. Compressors rock!
DeleteI just reread my last comment and realized it wasn't completely true. I actually have dated a tool or two in my lifetime, but that's a topic for a completely different type of discussion...LOL
