In the warehouse: Seating sale

My SIL is having a seating liquidation sale in the warehouse that includes some really nice bargains. These are either pieces we haven't restored yet (so they're perfect for the DIYers who want to save some money), or they're pieces we don't plan to recover or refinish.

Cream velvet Hollywood Regency chairs
Italian armchairs by Arrben
Cantilever chairs in the style of Mart Stam
Three-piece Danish parlor set with wood arms
Four-cushion sofa with tapered legs
(This is identical to the one I have at home...just in a different upholstery)
Milo Baughman three-cushion sofa with plinth base
Retro two-cushion sofa with button back
Three-cushion retro sofa with textured cotton upholstery

If you're curious about prices, you can see them on our website under the In the Warehouse tab.

  1. Love your website. The 3 piece Danish set makes me think of kicking back with an early TV remote in hand - channel UP, Channel Down. Off/On.

    1. I miss the simplicity of those old remotes. I pushed some button by mistake and got my screen size messed up last night, and it took me 30 minutes to figure out how to get it back the way it was supposed to be, and don't even get me started on the DVR settings...LOL

  2. I can see why you are letting go of some of the upholstered pieces. I have some great upholstery people and there's nothing they can't do, but I give them plenty of business as it is. And although reasonable it adds up quickly and you can't always predict what your customers are looking for as far as color. I recently purchased a 12 foot 50's two piece kidney shaped sectional that's going to be "to die for" when done. Although I got it for a song, I'm going to have to put $1000 for labor and material (not including 18-20 yardes fabric) into this before it's up for grabs! I still think it's worth it, as it will be a show stopper when done. I'll post about it when finished...

    1. We almost always reupholster designer pieces, a as a matter of course and if someone doesn't pick up that Baughman sofa as a pre-restoration bargain, it will probably go to the upholsterers. We have a Jens Risom there now that is going to be sensational!

  3. I love the "four cushion with tapered legs".
I have what is currently an ugly duckling, that once was a swan, lurking in a storage locker. I got it for almost nothing, have a huge roll of vintage upholstery fabric I picked up at the thrift store for almost nothing BUT(it's a big but) I have got to find an inexpensive (ish) upholsterer. I don't think it is economically viable to reupholster medium or large items for resale in Ohio, even designer pieces are iffy.

    1. I think what will work in one location but not in another is very interesting. We were reluctant to restore items, because we doubted that we could ever recoup what we spent, but we had a couple of chairs redone and priced them accordingly, and they sold immediately. Now we restore just about everything.
