Fifty years from now: Kate Stokes

Kate Stokes
Kate Stokes (1982- ) was born in Australia and studied industrial design at Curtin University. She designs furniture, interiors and graphics that may very well be considered classics in fifty years.

Stokes has lived and worked in Canada, Ireland and Italy. She has travelled throughout Cambodia, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Laos, Norway, Sweden and the United States.

She has had numerous exhibitions and has won a number of awards, most notably the Australia Council ArtStart grant to assist with producing new work and to broaden her practice. She opened her own studio, Coco Flip, in Melbourne.

  2. 50 years from now I will want to be sitting in that rocker on the beach, in fact I think I want to be sitting it in now. I wonder if it rocks in the sand?

    I love all the shots of her pieces and the pieces, especially the rocker.
