Groovin' to the Grundig

It's been a while since we last had a stereo in the store, and this gorgeous Grundig makes the wait well worthwhile. Not only does this unit have a classy exterior, but the radio and turntable work flawlessly too.

Somebody is going to be groovin' to this Grundig soon, I'm betting.

Here it is with everything closed.
With the pull-down door opened to reveal the radio...
And now completely open...

    1. Right before the store closed tonight, a couple was rushing home to get a record so they could test the turntable. My SIL was waiting for them to come back the last time I talked to him, so I don't know if he sold it or not...but it wouldn't surprise me if he did.

  2. Nice, one needs to be very picky to select 5 preset stations. It would drive me crazy.

    1. I'm assuming that means 5 stations you can set yourself, like on most cars today.

  3. That's one gorgeous piece of stereo! I haven't had any luck lately finding stereos and would love to this in our place! Not that it would last long around here either...

    1. For a while, we were finding stereos constantly, but then they dried up. We were thrilled to come across this one, because it's a real beauty.

  4. I can't wait until I have a place with the space for a sterio like one of these. I have had to pass up on 3 1950 - 1960 beauties and it gets harder every time.

    That one is really lovely.

    1. I completely understand. My house is small, so I have to pass on things because of space restrictions too. It's soooo hard to walk away!

  5. Really inspired of the antique but working stereo system. Its in superb condition and perform better than new one. Its more durable and have more life as compared to newer one. Its not available in the market nowadays.

  6. Gorgeous. Saw one of these converted into a bar at the world's longest yard sale - best of both worlds.

    1. As a newlywed in the 60s, I turned a HUGE old Zenith TV into a bar, and it was really cool. Are you rested up from the world's longest yard sale?

    1. Yes, it's always a good day when you find things that work as well on the inside as they look on the outside! :)
