Having been a college student in the 1960s, I've been to my share of Led Zeppelin concerts, so "old rocker" is an apt description of me.
This beauty is an old rocker too, but her recent restoration makes her look years younger than she is. Meet the latest piece to grace the store...a beautiful teak rocking chair by Frank Reeskaug for Bramin.
I find it interesting that the scientific/medical community has never fully understood why rocking has such a calming effect on humans, but it seems to be one of our basic instincts. And since we all seem to enjoy it, we might as well do it in style! :)
She's a beauty! I have a soft spot for rockers, they soothe both man and baby alike! Have a wee rock for me!

DeleteGorgeous piece. Love the cushions.x
ReplyDeleteThat back cushion really is great. I never would have thought to shape one that way, which is why I'm not a designer, I guess. :)
DeleteShe is a pretty little girl. And the teak. Danish, yes? I can't part with a rocker that my mom gave me. Used to rock me and my sister to sleep.
ReplyDeleteYes, Danish through and through. You're so lucky to have that piece of family history. I don't blame you for not wanting to let it go.
