Ho ho ho

My SIL ran across this French Maison Jansen chrome-based chair from the 1960s at a price too good to pass up. While it's definitely not the type thing we usually carry in the store, it is an interesting take on the classic Thonet bentwood rocker...and if worse comes to worse, we can always rent it out for pictures with Santa Claus. :)

    1. People are reacting to it in exactly the same way on our Facebook page. It has more likes than a lot of our really sleek mid-century pieces.

  2. I remember assembling some inexpensive bentwood pieces from long ago for a furniture company I worked for. This is a much better representation of the original! Nice piece!
And how perfect the color for the holidays!

  5. I had one before we lost our home and everything in it. I am now looking to replace that particular piece.

    1. We sold this rocker a little over a year ago, and I don't remember how much we asked for it. If you would like for my son-in-law to be on the lookout for one, you can contact him via the store link at the top of this blog.

  6. The chair is absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. I recently picked one up and had it professionally reupholstered. The detail in the upholstery included hand sewing the bottom upholstery to the seat base. I couldn't be happier, but my husband doesn't think the chrome rocker looks right in our house, so now I have to find a good home for it.
