Construction saga: Floor plans

Several people have asked to see a floor plan of my new "modernist nest." This is hand-drawn and not precisely to scale, but the room measurements are accurate.     I was wondering about the dining room then I remembered that you opted to create a bar instead, which makes sense when you live by yourself, and also makes sense when you live alongside family. I'm sure you get together for meals sometimes.

    The porch space at the back is a great idea.

      The one thing I hated to give up was my Drexel Profile dining set and matching china cabinet, but there just wasn't room in the new apartment, and my daughter and SIL wanted a smaller set for the main house. I'm still trying to find a good home for it.

      I'm sure you real architects out there got a bit of a chuckle out of my crude, amateurish attempt at drawing floor plans. I'm just glad I had a contractor with an imagination. :) I have to say, though, that if I'm reincarnated, I hope it's as an architect.
