Hillside modern

When a couple from Bellevue, Washington, decided to do a complete ground-up renovation on their home, they turned it into a dream house, inside and out. Using white oak, walnut, glass and steel, along with a mix of custom furniture, beautiful lighting and vintage pieces, they created a flawless environment. Feast your eyes.

  2. A feast indeed. I'm speechless and maybe a little breathless (which may be why I'm speechless)! Oh how I wish I could be this minimal and clean. HA! No chance of that but it is sure fun to look. Gorgeous home with all the right finishes and all the right decor. Love the steel beams. I have to assume those little knockouts in the ceiling (like above the couch and the kitchen counters, etc.) are all skylights. CRAZY SMART BEAUTIFUL!

    1. I wondered about those knockouts too. They may be larger light fixtures over areas that need brighter light at times. I have one very similar, original to the 1950 build, in the living room of the main house. When I bought the house, it was covered with a cracked piece of frosted reeded glass that also looked original, which I replaced with a piece of clear reeded glass.

    1. The only thing I can think of for you to do is contact the designer and see if she can give you any information. Tell her you're referencing the Decoist article on the Hillside Modern home so she will know what job you're inquiring about.
