More plants for the modern home

Posts about plants that look good in a mid-century or contemporary home are usually popular, and it's been a long time since I've written one, so here are some photos I've run across recently that you might enjoy.

    1. I have some cactus that is growing so fast that it will soon be the size of the one in the center of the photo. Aren't those magnificent?

    1. Isn't that the cutest plant ever? I may have to get some to hang in one of my windows.

    2. It's also commonly called Rosary Beads. I think because you need to say a hundred Hail Mary's to keep it alive!

  4. Wonderful examples! Steghorn Fern is my personal favorite because it's the only plant who didn't died the last five years in house . Miss you too, btw :-)

    1. I have always loved staghorn fern, but I've never had any. That may be my next plant purchase.

  5. Love 'em all Dana. that Fiddle Leaf is spectacular. My three are hanging in there, but they need so much more light than I thought they would to really thrive. I laughed when I saw that String-o-Pearls. I gave mine a big talking to yesterday. It's on its last legs. I have had no luck with them. At all. Too much water, no water, not enough water - I can't win! I am not going to buy another one :( I really love them though. little ply (?) planter. I love all of these pics x

    1. I used to have a green thumb and could grow anything, but lately not so much. If you have had that much trouble with string of pearls, maybe I won't try it. I love that little plywood planter too. I love that it mounts on the wall.

    2. Is the pearls ever called "peas"... I think I saw something called "peas" that looked like this at an ahhh-mazing succulent place near my house that for some reason I have only just discovered.

    3. I don't know if they're called "peas" or not, but it would make sense if they were. That's what they look like.

    1. I still have my outdoor plants indoors for the winter, so it looks a little like a jungle in here right now. My cactus grew about a foot (30 cm) over the past summer. I'm hoping for at least that much growth again when the weather gets warm.
