Well isn't that a true statement. It is a waste of energy worrying and wondering about what others may think or say about our decisions, but it is in our nature to do so. I know I have had much less of a problem with this as I have aged. At this point, I don't really care what someone else thinks. It's my decision and I own it. ;)
I think you're right that we feel less and less pressure from our peers as we get older and more confident about our choices. We also seem to be less likely to jump on every fad once we define our own tastes.
I agree with you completely. I generally make my purchasing/decorating decisions based on what I feel passionate about with little or no regard to what anyone else thinks. That's one reason I've never considered hiring a decorator.

DeleteI have friends who make all their decisions by consensus. How can they ever love their decisions? That is what I always think.
