The first one reminds me of the flower designs by Charles MackIntosh.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's one of the reasons I like it. At one time, before I became a "dedicated Modernist," so to speak, I was a fan of Rennie Mackintosh and had tall-backed Mackintosh-style dining chairs and several prints of work by him (The Wassail, as well as some florals) and by his wife Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh (The May Queen) hanging in my bedroom and in my bathroom.
DeleteThe Va. Museum of Fine Arts here in Richmond has several chairs in their collection purchased by the founders of BEST Products.
ReplyDeleteI still love the look of his chairs.
