House-buying saga: The search begins anew

Here are some of the houses we looked at over the weekend. They all had features we loved. Some had to be eliminated for having back yards that are too small for the boys to play or to build another MIL apartment.  Others had floor plans that wouldn't give us enough privacy till we build a new "nest," but several are still contenders.

  1. You certainly have a great selection of houses to look at. Would love to see inside. Happy house hunting!

    1. We've seen so many great houses in the past few days that the disappointment about the other house has already faded. It simply wasn't supposed to be "our house." There's one out there that is.

  2. Those are all great looking houses. I especially like the third and second from the end. Too bad they have small yards. Small yards sound like Florida.

    1. We actually made an offer on the house that's second from the bottom, It was absolutely gorgeous inside and out. The owners had been transferred out of state, so we thought they might be really motivated to sell. They said they were upside-down in the house, so they couldn't some down on the price as much as we needed them to.

    2. I love that house. I have to admit, however, that the tree growing outward right next to the house is very unusual. The other houses are stunning! The house that is third from the top is exceptionally elegant. Whatever house you choose, I know it will be extraordinary.

    3. I absolutely loved the exterior of that third house too, but it was the one with ZERO back yard. I'm not exaggerating one bit when I say that it was driveway and pool. Not a blade of grass in sight. :(

  3. They're all beautiful... as I knew they would be if you were looking at them... but I must say: I'm absolutely in love with the third one!

    1. When I saw the front of the third one, I said it was the prettiest I'd seen so far...but the back yard had a driveway and a pool and nothing else. I mean NOTHING. Nowhere to put a house for me. :(

    1. I think we all feel that the mojo is gone. It's sad, but blogs have become yesterday's news. I'll post about our new house, and I'll probably chronicle the building and decorating of Modernist Nest 2, which we hope to start soon after we move in, but that will most likely be the end of blogging for me.
