Another great Eichler for sale

Oh, so far away...but so beautiful to look at. There's another Eichler home for sale, this time in Walnut Creek, California. The house was built in 1959. It has 1742 square feet, with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. The house is listed at $885,000.

  1. Oh, what a beauty!! Love that sheltered courtyard and the beautiful, simple facade in that first pic. If I bought it, the first thing I'd do was paint those beams in a darker color, looks like the owners might have been a bit eager with the white. I'm sure mr Eichler intended the structural elements to stand out:-) Too far, Dana? I could see you in that one:-)

    1. I agree with you about the beams, and I would get rid of the blue trim, but with their color choices for the interior, I'm sure it suits their style.

    1. Yes, it's a shame to see someone make "improvements" that are really architectural eyesores.

    1. They used your yellow! As I started to respond to your comment, I realized I had left a photo of what appears to be a broad, bright yellow hallway (or long, narrow room) out of the post, so I added it quickly, just for you.

  4. Amazing house. It has just the right amount of bedrooms and bathrooms that I'm after too! Love it all - including the colour used throughout. Great home.

    1. It's really cheery...like your personality. A move to California, perhaps? :)

  6. I live not too far from this Eichler "Rancho San Miguel" neighborhood in Walnut Creek, so every once in a while I'll drive through it... It's very interesting because some of the Eichlers are quite run-down, others have been "updated" badly, and then some have been beautifully preserved.

    1. We have a couple of neighborhoods similar to that here in Fort Worth. One is a mid-century neighborhood, and one dates back to the early 1900s. Both have beautifully restored homes sitting right next to really run down ones inhabited by some pretty sketchy characters. I have a friend who moved out of one of those neighborhoods after he had a car stolen the seventh time.

  7. Just in the next suburb to us is a home going for $800,000 + . It's no Eichler!
I'd lose the blue and move right in, thanks for sharing. x
