Last night I happened to run across a site that has candles specifically designed for the line, and a little more searching turned up several sources for the round and the flame-shaped candles, including FinnStyle, Gift Chalet and Scandinavian South. Now that we know they're being manufactured again, a more thorough search will almost certainly turn up more sources.
The ball candles cost $2.75 each, the large Danish Drops range from $5.50 to 5.75, and the small Danish Drops are around $4.00, give or take a nickel.

I apologize for the poor quality of the color chart images. These appear to have been scanned from a catalog and placed on the company's website.
So do you think all three types of candles were used or just the ball candles? I'm scared of candles.
ReplyDeleteI'm leery of having candles burning when the boys are around, so I understand. I've only seen an Iittala ad showing the ball candles, which I just added above, so I don't know if the other shapes are new or not. That's a good question that I hope someone else can answer for us.
DeleteI think the ball candles are the "original" ones. I wish they could make them in more colors, though... The drop candles look good in them too, I've found drop candles in a local store over here in a lovely chocolate brown. I'm planning on ordering a couple of boxes, to make sure I don't run out. I just found four signed Festivos this weekend in local thrifts!! Yay!!!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't thrilled with the color selection in the ball candles either, although the plum might work for me. Congratulations on your find of four signed Festivos. We're getting low on our supply at the store and need to start looking for a few more. We probably need to buy a few candles too.
DeleteI've never seen candles like that. I could really use some of those tall glass candle holders that look like high voltage insulators. They'd look nice in my radio room.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was an electrical engineer, so I grew up with glass insulators, in all kinds of pretty colors, sitting around the house. I hear they're collectible now.
DeleteThe ball candles add so much to the design, love them....heard about them but haven't seen them before.
ReplyDeleteWe bought some cream colored ones a year or so ago, but ours weren't footed. I'd like to buy some that are designed to fit the Festivas perfectly.
DeleteYes, those ball candles are the bomb! I will have to get some for Christmas. xx
ReplyDeleteI need to buy some in colors for the store for Christmas too.
DeleteI have a red ball candle, can't bring myself to burn it, ooh I need more Festivo!
ReplyDeleteI gathered up all the Festivo we've sold at the store and didn't keep a single piece for myself. Same for all the Wirkkala pieces we've sold. What was I thinking? We haven't burned any of our ball candles either. They look so pretty just sitting there. :)
