Another beautiful mid-century home is for sale, this time in Lafayette, California. Designed by architect Roger Lee and built in 1956, this home is another fine example of 20th century modernism, with walls of glass, panoramic views, cantilevered deck, a courtyard, beautiful wood and in-floor radiant heat.
The house has 1982 square feet, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is listed at $1,100,000.
oh YES, wonderful. Very similar to many houses around here in the foothills built around the same era or a bit later.
ReplyDeleteWhen you think about how many wonderful things came out of that era, it's a little mindboggling that we produce so much garbage today, with all our advanced technology.
DeleteThat's fab - and so nice to see a house with more bedrooms than bathrooms!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a real commentary on our society that our bathrooms have become such important places in our homes
DeleteI love this house Dana. If I had a million bucks - or so, to spare (and lived in California) I'd buy it. How magnificent is that fireplace?!
ReplyDeleteI'd move to California for that fireplace!
DeleteBe still my heart! Beautiful home Dana. That fireplace is so good. Xx
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with it the minute I saw it.
DeleteVery nice and so is my copy of Winters Atomic Ranch magazine, an early Christmas present.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen my copy yet.
DeleteOh, that one really is a beauty!!! I'm a sucker for exposed post and beam constructions, and cool glass combined with the warmth of wood is a winning team! All the lovely wood really is a gorgeous feature on this one!
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I love about it too. That wood is beautiful!
