Bird fever

I've caught it again...bird fever!

We've sold some Oiva Toikka birds in the store, but I only have one of my own so far...a long-tailed duck that I bought back in July of 2011.

If you've never held one of these marvels in your hands or watched the amazing video about how they're made (first link above), I recommend that you do so. It's a beautiful experience.

    They're terrific, all of them. The Curlew is just mesmerizing.
    But I would still choose your Eames housebird over any of these.

      She has posted even more!!! I doubt that I have enough will-power not to bid on at least a few...although I will say that the prices on the ones she listed first are going up fast.

      They truly are incredible, and no picture can really do them justice. They're much heavier than you'd expect, and the way they play with light is nothing short of spectacular.

    That is a great way to spend your eBay bucks!(I spent mine on a piece of cathrineholm) They are gorgeous. I really like the Fiskarina one...reminds me of those Palatnik sculptures. If you get one (or all :)) we need pictures of them in their new home!

      Oh, if I get one, I'll definitely show it off! :) Some of them do have a Palatnik feel, don't they? I love the Palatnik cats...so long and low and feliney!

      Gotta love PayPal credit and eBay Bucks! Nothin' beats FREE! (Or at least a clever marketing ploy that makes you feel like you're getting something free...)

    Good to know I'm not the only one obsessed with birds! My cats are starting to freak out with them sitting all over the house. HA! These are amazing. Thanks for sharing and I have the same advice as the others... BID GIRL, BID!

      I really am obsessed with birds...Eames house bird, Oiva Toikka birds, Tapio Wirkkala kingfisher and pollo...I could have birds everywhere!
