Two fabulous tables, one a game table with chairs and one a pedestal dining table, have made their way to the floor of the store. The fully restored dining table was designed by Milo Baughman for Founders. It is made of Honduran mahogany and has brushed aluminum trim on the base. The game table was designed by T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings for Widdicomb. It is also mahogany and has been completely restored.

That game table is something.
ReplyDeleteI think it's really nice. We have another one that we're restoring now that is dark mahogany with a round piece of terrazzo in the center. I think you'll like it too.
DeleteThose are very nice tables. I'd like them both if I lived near you. For the size house I have I'd have to settle for that neat game table which is fantastic. I'm always surprised at all the interesting things that you manage to find.
ReplyDeleteMy SIL has really developed a great network of dealers and owners and auction houses. He's really good at finding new pieces and keeps a steady flow of things coming in all the time.
DeleteGorgeous tables! I love how the shop has something for every taste. The restoration work is pretty incredible. Wish I had a HUMONGOUS house and a bank account to match. I'd bring a truck, Dana. :-) Love seeing what's in the store. WINDOW SHOPPING! (or screen shopping)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't really thought about it before, but my SIL has gotten really good at choosing a variety of pieces for every taste. I'll tell him about your comment. He'll like that.
DeleteI wish I lived closer! The game table (and chairs) would fit here so nicely...
