I'm not an avid birder, but I have been known to take a few pictures of the cardinals who raise a family in my back yard every year, and I have feeders out for my back yard friends. I suppose the affinity I have for the real birds that come to eat outside my window is part of the reason I love having a bird collection indoors.
Even though my previous wooden animal purchase was a pair of monkeys, I had already bought three wooden birds to display on my room divider and bathroom shelves. Now take a look at my latest purchase...a pair of teak ducks...or are they geese?
As new as I am to the collecting of wooden animals, I have no background information on these, but I love their graceful bodies and inlaid eyes. One is slightly larger than the other, so they were probably sold as a male and female pair.
If you know anything about them, please share.

My poor little ducks aren't getting any love. I guess the Houzz thing is stealing all their thunder. I've had over 2000 page hits today, but nobody is coming to look at ducks, I suspect. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm here! Funny that I posted about my own wooden bird today! Love your geese but I have no new info for you. Great feature on Houzz!
ReplyDeleteI saw your bird, and I fell head over heels in love with it! Thanks, I'm glad you liked the Houzz article. They want to come back when my daughter finishes decorating and do a feature on the main house. We're really pleased.
DeleteWell, I love Eames, and I love birds, so this post was right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid my love of birds is bordering on "out of control" these days. :)
DeleteWhatever they are, they are very cool. Love their lines.
ReplyDeleteI think they're little cuties!
DeleteDuck Duck Geese?
ReplyDeleteThey are so flipping cute!
I rather like them. Good buy Dana
I have this ridiculous thing for wooden birds now, so I just buy whatever tickles my fancy. These sure did! :)
