For the past couple of months, we've been clearing out all our merchandise at the old location and stocking the new store. My SIL has made some stellar purchases, and Hank Tosh and Rene Martinez deserve a huge round of applause for the incredible restoration work they've done on a steady stream of pieces.
I could talk about all the new things for paragraphs on end, but I think I will let them speak for themselves.

Vintage sofa with pristine original upholstery by the Valentine Seaver division of Kroehler
and a newly restored Drexel Precedent desk by Edward Wormley in the background |
Okay, this post has left my head spinning... just one amazing piece after another!
ReplyDeleteThe Birds in Flight metal sculpture is just stunning. So is the Danish credenza. So is the...
That's exactly the reaction we wanted to hear. :)
DeleteYou've always got such amazing stuff Dana. How do you resist the urge to take it all home?
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, I'd love to...but my house and my bank account are too small. And my SIL reminds me that he's in business to sell furniture, not decorate my house! LOL
DeleteSurely being the mother-in-law entitles you to an occasional pick ;)
DeleteYou'd think, wouldn't you? Or at least an employee discount! In fairness to him, I did get that killer teak desk with the sliding top...but I paid full price for it. He's an unabashed entrepreneur. LOL
DeleteAll due respect to Gus*, the vintage Kroehler - that's a sofa.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's the one most like the one I have at home. And would you believe that we got it from the original owner? It has been kept in perfect condition since 1957.
DeleteI've got to tell you, I've been pining for that "Salt and Pepper" Kroehler Sofa ever since you and Patricia caught me smiling at it Saturday! Haha If I didn't have a dinning room to build and a car to buy I'd be SO tempted to put money on it for the rest of my life LOL It was fun getting to visit!
ReplyDeleteYou had that smitten look...LOL I loved meeting you and Patricia and can't wait to visit the Casablanca!
Deleteevery detail is perfection. and that sofa, all original, is the complete bomb!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that thing just too wonderful for words? It's been so well cared for that it looks brand new.
DeleteMan, this is funny. We scroll through pictures of things that people would kill for, that cost thousands (I'm guessing) of dollars, and what do most of us go gaga over? A 55 year old sofa.
ReplyDeleteAre we in deep or what?
I want...hmmm...the sofa, the Jere, the credenza...
ReplyDeleteYep, I am still in so much trouble! :-)
Shared both days knockout posts/pics with all my MCM buddies along the way. Their responses were over the top, too.
So excited for all of you..Joe is truly rocking it.
He is indeed. I'm so impressed with how far he's come in just a year. He lives and breathes this business! Glad you found so many pieces "wantable." :)
DeleteDo you know if there is a Drexel Declaration end table like the one pictured with the Atwood chair but round? Can't seem to find a picture of it, if there is one.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, the table didn't come in a round version, at least with the cane shelf. Pam at Retro Renovation posted some Declaration brochures here:
