Depending on how much you imbibed the night before, you might think you're seeing double when you walk into the store, but you're not. We have not one, but
two vintage Eames lounge chairs with ottomans on the showroom floor.
These two original 670/671 models are in Brazilian rosewood and black leather. One is a late 1960s version with all foam fill, and the other is an early 60s version with down and foam fill. The shells have been refinished on both sets.

Oh my goodness, stunning. the ultimate in chairs :)
ReplyDeleteThe Eames lounge chair is truly one of the best chairs ever made, for comfort as well as style. This is the first time we've been able to offer a pair.
DeleteI'd fly to Dallas just to sit in them! I'm going to find one for myself one day, I just know it.
ReplyDeleteI do believe patience is rewarded. The problem is...I've never had any. :)
DeleteWow, a 60s rosewood one would be a dream....
ReplyDeleteThey're unbelievably gorgeous! The rosewood is divine.
DeleteI'd love to have a set of those. They look wonderful and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThey're amazing. Anytime anyone in the store looks (and I mean even casually, as in one of the men who put up our window signs the other day) at an Eames lounge and ottoman, my SIL insists that they sit in it, just for the experience. It't that comfortable...and that iconic. :)
DeleteMy husband is dreaming of such a beauty since he saw it first! Some day we will be rich and his dream will come true!
ReplyDeleteI imagine this chair is on many people's "When I Get Rich" lists! :)
DeleteThose are absolutely gorgeous! Would LOVE one but we'll have to stick with the knock offs for now. One day....
ReplyDeleteI have to sit in them at my son-in-law's store. They're a little too expensive for this retired teacher's pocketbook. :)
DeleteMy mom had one of these! I really can't believe her taste level considering she also had Herman Bubble Lamps (2) and a Saarinen Tulip table and chairs. All gone. **sigh**. I never loved the bright chartreuse sofa though. It was a tiny bit much. :)
ReplyDeleteWow...I love your mom! :)
