Architect and designer
Patricia Urquiola has created a whimsical collection of rugs and poufs for GAN Rugs. Called
Mangas, meaning "sleeves" in Spanish, the pieces are handmade of 100% wool in bright colors as well as neutrals and draw their inspiration from the patterns of cozy knitted sweaters. The unusual shapes of the pieces allow for modular positioning of other pieces in the collection.
At first these reminded me more of socks than sleeves, and I didn't think I'd like them anywhere but in a kid's room...until I saw that last two images in neutral colors. I'd be thrilled to have those pieces in my home.
