abcnews.go.com

Pete Seeger, active musician from the 1930s to the present, died January 27 at age 94. Born in 1919, his music shaped our culture as well as our consciences.

He wrote songs such as "If I Had a Hammer," "Turn, Turn, Turn," "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" and "We Shall Overcome," which became anthems for peace and equal rights.

Rest in peace, Pete Seeger. You will remain in our hearts.
