Spaces: Living room built-in
The built-ins in the formal living room hold my daughter's treasures. She started collecting swung vases from estate sales 20 years ago, and I usually give her one or two every Christmas. She also loves Blenko owls and other glass figurals.

Love the built-in and the colors in the vases make this so eye-catching!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The original owner of this house must have loved built-ins, because they're everywhere...living room, family room, dining room...plus cabinets galore. There's lots of light in the living room, because it has huge picture windows on both ends, so the colors of the glass are always gorgeous.
DeleteCan you say, "Swung vase"?
ReplyDeleteI think I just did. ;)
DeleteLove that built in, and I agree the colored glass is stunning there, with the white and the light. I gave my mom a vase like that many years ago, wish I had it now. It sadly disappeared. She probably donated it. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou always come up with the best finds. Maybe you'll run across another one in your outings. I do think white rooms with a lot of light let you do so much with color, glass or otherwise!
DeleteI love having built ins and yours is a perfect display area for your daughter's vases.
ReplyDeleteAnd away from cute little boys and baseballs? ;)
We rarely use the living room, so you're right that hers are safe. Mine, however, are in the family room built-ins, so the boys and I have already come to an abiding understanding that the only thing we are allowed to throw in that room are kisses. :)
