As a result of another out-of-state picking trip, more new pieces have been added to our inventory this week. My SIL found a great dining set, a shiny little Lucite and glass side table and another pair of Ib Kofod-Larsen chairs.
The dining set looks somewhat like Broyhill
Saga, but it's not. We haven't started trying to identify it yet, so if you know the designer/maker, please share.
The pair of Kofod-Larsen chairs we sold a few months ago were so beautiful after we had them refinished and reupholstered that we can't wait to start looking for fabric for these two. We haven't decided yet whether to have them done in the same dark finish as the other ones or go a little lighter. That will probably depend on our fabric selection. I'm sure, just like last time, I'll be sad to see these go. I love the design, and I wish I had a place for them in my house.

The dining set looks like one we own. Ours has a round table, but I have seen rectangle ones like yours. I can't tell from the pictures, but there should be walnut bowtie inserts in both the chair backs and tabletop. At one time I found evidence that these were produced by Lane. However, I am not even seeing examples now with a google search, so it makes me second guess. I do remember beeing pretty sure that it was lane at one time. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the information. That will definitely give us a starting place. When are you making a road trip back to Texas? When you do, be sure to come see our new store. We ought to be moved in next week! :)
DeleteYou were right on the money IDing the set. It is indeed Lane. Thanks for your help!
DeleteThose are all classics. Classic is the new term I am using for 'stuff I remember seeing when I was a kid'. We're not old, we're classic!
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I like to hear. Not old. Classic sounds so much nicer!
DeleteThe teak dining set is beautiful. (Our salvation army had a teak table out on the floor. I ran over to see the price. It said $40.00
ReplyDeleteSOLD
"LOL of course the darn thing was sold... $40 omg I almost fell over. Whoever got it must have had at least 10 lucky pennies."
The Lucite & glass table is quite neat
Wow...$40! You're right...it must have been someone's super lucky day.
DeleteI saw the chair post on facebook (I love beign able to keep up wiht you on there!) and flipped! Ofcourse they would match nothing im my fairly traditional midcentury style, BUT WOW!
ReplyDeleteIf you liked that orange chair, stay tuned for some other pieces. We're about to start carrying a mid-century inspired contemporary line, in addition to all our vintage pieces. We're really excited about helping our customers mix the two in their homes.
DeleteAlso, I'm so glad you keep up with us on Facebook too. My SIL Joe does most of the posting of furniture on that page, although I do contribute some. :)
Oooo, all cool finds. It must be painful to watch these amazing pieces come and go. I'd have the hardest time with the letting go part!
ReplyDeleteP.S. How did I miss the blog makeover? I love your profile pic - same pic, but this version looks like a sketch! So fun. I think I always focus on wiping drool off my keyboard from ogling such amazing furniture, I might have missed the updates :D
Truly, there are some pieces I love so much that I almost cry when they sell, but my tiny house can only hold so much.
DeleteI started tweaking the blog a few days ago and still have some things I plan to do. I didn't make too many obvious changes...just tried to make things cleaner, as well as easier to read and find.
Great new pieces, especially love the kofod-Larsen chairs. How can you let them go? Oh,the pain of separation!
ReplyDeleteI was just sick when we sold the last pair of Kofod-Larsen chairs. I know I'll feel the same way when these go, but I simply don't have a place for them, and even if I did, I couldn't justify paying what I know my SIL is going to ask for them...:)
DeleteMy Kofod-Larsen chair has a light wood finish, the darker finish looks more expensive. Go with that.
ReplyDeleteWe were really pleased with the way the first two turned out, so we'll probably go with that color. Why change something that worked, right?
