Fort Worth home for sale

Was my last post really in December? I've really been neglecting the blog lately. Gone are the years of daily posts, but this is ridiculous. I'll make a real effort to be more diligent from now on.

This local mid-century delight is owned by an acquaintance of mine. I've been in the home socially, and I can honestly say that it's more beautiful than the photos.

Built in 1952, this 4593 square foot marvel boasts soaring ceilings with skylights, huge indoor plants and tons of built-ins. With 5 bedrooms and 4 updated bathrooms and an updated kitchen with a gas stove which includes a grill, wok attachment, convection oven and warming drawer, it is larger and offers more amenities than many homes built in the early 1950s. It also has a stacked stone see-through fireplace, as well as refinished terrazzo tile and new cork flooring.

The home is located in Fort Worth's prestigious Monticello neighborhood and has a park view. It is listed at $599,000.

    1. It truly is a gorgeous place. He even has a chicken coop in his side yard, along with a great deck in back.

    1. Oh, yes, it is! The owner retired and moved back to the west coast to be with family. I know he misses his beautiful house.

    1. I've been a combination of lazy and busy...mostly the former. :) When I posted daily, it was easy to keep up. Somehow, posting intermittently is harder. I guess it's similar to being on a strict exercise regimen and then slacking off. It's always hard to get back in the groove again.

  4. Maybe you can give me a clue with a question. I have a modern designed kitchen (white colors and subtones) so i decided to take some time and renovate it. I painted bottom half in dark tones, but the question remains. I want to install stained glass and i have troubles deciding can i use it, will it fit. I have thoughts to find stained glass making artist but so far i haven`t found one near me to try it on.

    1. I usually think of stained glass in homes older than mid-century, such as Victorian style or Frank Lloyd Wrightish Prairie-style, but with the right pattern, you could probably make it work. I'm thinking along the lines of the designs of Lucienne Day, who has influenced present-day mid-century artist JennSki.
