Our first partial shipment of Bend seating arrived yesterday, and we're hoping to have all nine of the pieces we ordered in the store soon. The decision to become a Bend dealer is the next step in our plan to sell quality mid-century inspired modern furniture in addition to the beautiful vintage modern we love so much and to help our customers see how to use them side-by-side in their homes. We'll be the first showroom store in the southern U.S. to carry the line.
Bend chairs are made up of intricate arrangements of wires by a hand-crafted method of shaping and spot welding. Each bend is carefully arranged to ensure structural strength, while the angles of the back, the curves of the seat and the closeness of the wires are designed to encourage relaxation and utility. The chairs are made of hot-dipped galvanized iron to prevent rust and then given a powder coated finish in white, black, orange or peacock blue.
While company founder/designer Gaurav Nanda is clearly influenced by iconic mid-century wire chairs, the designs are still fresh and original. Take a look at this fun collection!
I'll show you more when everything comes in.
