The stripe makes it official

With the installation of our signature orange stripe and logo, we have officially arrived in the Design District.

When we opened the first store on Exposition, my daughter, SIL and I installed a much smaller vinyl stripe ourselves (and very inexpertly, I might add, with lots of bubbles and expletives), because it wasn't in the budget of the fledgling store to pay someone to do it. This time a team of two very experienced men did the work for us, with nary a bubble in sight. We still need to order door signs, and we'll be set.

Test drive

In case you're curious about my banner change, we're taking our new blog/business logo out for a test drive.

If all goes as planned, we will be opening our mid-century store in March, and some variation of this image will be our window sign, our price tags, our business cards and our website banner. We've come up with several color combinations. One is just orange and white, which will probably be the graphics we use for the store window. I like the dark gray, orange and white for my blog, but I may take the gray down a notch, because on some computers, it may look like black.

You may see some fine tuning taking place in the days to come...but it's still me.
