One is a rare walnut side table with a white leather top, a built-in lamp and copper planters. Could anything more amazing be found in a single piece of furniture? The table is a Model #4634-L, which was designed by Nelson for Herman Miller. The L at the end of the model number denotes the built-in lamp, which was optional. The white leather is spotless, and the copper planters have acquired a beautiful patina, but they could be polished to their original sheen.

The other is a set of four Model #4668 dark lacquered walnut dining chairs, also by Nelson for Herman Miller. They are upholstered in a beautiful nubby silk fabric and are in exquisite vintage condition.

Deleteresplendent! Truly "Modern" in every way.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I remember how new and sleek modern furniture looked when it first came out. It was such a departure from the ornate design we'd been accustomed to.

ReplyDeleteI love the fabric on the chairs especially. Great size on the chairs...not too big and not too small.
