In the store: Storage, lights and chairs

My SIL, daughter and the boys made a quick trip to Houston a little over a week ago to pick up a Danish  wall unit found on Craigslist. While there, they got a large burl wood and black leather shelf  (and a chrome chandelier which you'll see when we get it cleaned up).

We finally got a couple of lights hung that had been stored since the move...a George Nelson saucer and another beautiful white pendant similar to the artichoke style I showed you the other day. As you might have guessed, the artichoke sold immediately. So did the wall unit.

Danish wall unit - Sold before I could get this post published!

    1. I have a feeling the Swedish chairs will go as quickly as the wall unit did.

    1. The wall unit is MASSIVE. Would you believe that a couple in Houston bought a house and found when they moved in that the previous owners had just left it behind?!?!? It didn't suit their taste, so they listed it on CL and we were lucky enough to nab it. The person who bought it from us got a great deal. I agree about that light too. It's really something!

    1. Luckily, the buyer lives out of town and is in no big hurry for it, so we'll get to enjoy it for a few more weeks while he arranges white glove shipping. It took my SIL all one day to put it up (and will take another day to take it down and fill all the holes in the wall), so I'm glad it's not flying out the door 24 hours after he put in all that work.

    1. The wall unit was definitely the find of the month, no doubt about it. The artichoke and this lamp were great estate sale finds.

  7. I was going to ask how long did it take to install the wall unit, but I saw it in the comments. It is so pretty. I've been seeing a few of these selling at estate sales of late, so tell him not to patch up the holes.

  9. I have this wall unit! I couldnt figure out what the metal hooks on the back were for. I got it from my grandad before it went in a garage sale. How much are they worth? So glad I see one hanging on the wall. I also have the file cabinet and a four drawer flat file that goes with it. Its so big. Hard to imagine that on the wall, but it has the hooks on the back too!

    1. Depending on the size, the condition and the manufacturer, you could have a unit that's worth thousands of dollars. Exactly how much a unit is worth depends largely on the market in which you're selling it.
