Reveal update

The photographer's website promises a less than 24-hour turnaround, but when I told him that these were going to be for a blog post and possible submission to a magazine, he said they'd probably spend a little more time than usual on them...but assured me I'd have them by mid-week.

Well, by my calendar, Wednesday is mid-week, and the photos aren't here yet. I emailed this morning and told him I had a Wednesday deadline on the blog post, but I haven't heard back. I'm sure that means he's working diligently, without stopping for meals or bathroom breaks, to finish my images!

Still, Wednesday is 6 hours and 15 minutes away from being over, and I guess it's possible that I could still get the post in under the wire. I've been in bed with a horrible head cold all day, but I promise I'll check my email periodically.

I have to admit, though, that this is a fitting ending to a construction saga and landscaping project that has had more than its share of delays. A speedy turnaround on the photos just wouldn't have seemed right. :)

UPDATE: Thursday, 9:30 a.m.--I heard from the photographer. He's promised the photos by early afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed.

UPDATE: Thursday, 3:55 p.m.--Is it just me, or does "early afternoon" mean 1:00 or 2:00? It's almost 4:00, and I think we've passed "mid-afternoon" and are headed straight for "late afternoon." I'm going to take more medicine and head back to bed.

    1. I'd be upset if all these delays hadn't taken on such a comic element. The funniest part is that I'm known among family and friends as the most impatient person on earth. The standing joke is that I don't know that there's any other setting on my stove besides HIGH. :)

    1. I'm drinking lots of fluids and getting plenty of rest, but you're right that getting those photos would make me feel a lot better.

  3. I just posted and then RAN over here thinking, I'm late!!!! Everyone saw them before me. Of course I am not late at all. This is starting to get ridiculously funny. I hope you get them tomorrow. I will do my last Pasadena house post tomorrow. It is driving me crazy due to the poor quality pictures but felt I owed it to the tour to power through. It is kind of my little test ... actually doing bad work on purpose. Boo Rebecca.

    1. If I weren't able to see some humor in all these delays, I'd be a raving lunatic already. It's turning into the Keystone Cops meet the Three Stooges!

    3. Let me explain, I rushed over again and no pix... It is funny at some level.

    1. You might have to do just that. Things still don't seem to be moving very quickly at this end. :(

  5. Man, just when you are at the end of it and have come this far! I'm sure the photographs will be fantastic and well worth the wait. I'm excited!

    1. Really, though, as many weird delays as I've already had, should we have expected this to go as smoothly as advertised? The "less than 24 hour turnaround" promised on the website now stands at 71 hours and counting. If he gets them to me early this afternoon, as his email said this morning, he'll clock in somewhere around 75 hours. I hope they're good enough to merit the wait!

    2. Geez, they are certainly pushing the 24 hour turnaround tag line! I hope they are there ready and waiting first thing in the morning. x

    3. Nope...8:35 Friday morning, and no pictures. And the photo shoot was Monday morning. To say that I'm not pleased is a real understatement. I just emailed him...again.

  7. Not be the rain on your parade....did he have a memory card in his camera? Is he trying to think of excuses why he hasn't delivered the goods? I'm in a time sensitive industry...I HATE EMPTY PROMISES!

    1. You'd think they'd just say that they had some problems with the camera and come out and re-shoot if the images aren't usable.

I can deal with a reasonable explanation. Like you, however, I can't stand empty promises meant to buy time.
