The Haiku website shows a picture of a traditional ceiling fan deconstructing to reveal their innovative design underneath, and that image says it all. The Haiku completely shatters the ceiling fan mold, which is exactly the type of fan I've been looking for.

The Sycamore fan is even less like a traditional ceiling fan. In fact, it looks like something you'd find in a home of the future...and I love it too.
I have seen these, you get a trick of the eye when they turn, cause your expecting it to like a standard fan...very mesmerising :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen one yet. I'd love to see one of the Sycamores turning. Do you think it would be distracting?
DeleteThese are great. Wonder how much air the Sycamore would actually move? I dislike ceiling fans in general becasue they are so ugly, with their school lights, etc. However, gotta have that air movement, so the two I do have are plain white ceiling huggers - the most non-descript I could find. Might have to look into the Haiku!
ReplyDeleteI know I saw the specs on that somewhere, but it must have been in an article about the fan, because I couldn't locate it quickly when I visited the Haiku website again. Grandson #2 has been very demanding of my attention today, so I didn't give it a thorough look though.
DeleteThese are both beautiful and would look great in a mid-mod ranch. Couldn't find the priceing on the Sycamore and I guess if you have to ask you can't afford it, but when I saw that financing was available on the Haiku and the prices I knew it would not be in most peoples budgets. That's not just a fan, it's an investment!
ReplyDeleteI noticed the financing plan right off the bat too, and I figured the same thing you did. We were right. They run $995, which is too rich for my blood, but I suppose if you had lots of money and were building your dream house, you wouldn't want a $117 Home Depot fan in your living room...:)
DeleteThese two ceiling fans look absolutely amazing! I would personally like to have a 3-blade ceiling fan. There is the misconception that more blades mean better cooling, but the 3-blade ceiling fan is actually considered as the optimum design for circulating air.
