These floor-setting nights usually end around 1 a.m. and result in somewhat dark photos, but I'm always too impatient to see what they've done to wait till the sun comes up again and the store is flooded with light.

In the store: New floor layout
My daughter and SIL completely rearrange the floor of the store once a month. Here is the result of their working deep into the night last Saturday, while Grandsons #1 and #2 and I had a special party at Grammo's little house.

Very nice. It's hard work but I bet they get a kick out of rearranging monthly.
ReplyDeleteNow that the store size has grown, it takes hours of heavy lifting to accomplish, but I think they're always proud of the end result.
DeleteIt would be just like playing house. A very nicely furnished one! I love the light fitting above that enormous dining table. Ditto the Brutalist one. I bet the Grandies (and their gorgeous Grandma!) had fun at the little house x
ReplyDeleteMy daughter says, with a grimace, that it's more like moving to a new house once a month. The boys and I say it's sleepover time, with hot chocolate and marshmallows! :) Aren't those lights amazing? The one over the table is so big that it's hard to find anything that it doesn't dwarf, but I think they found the right piece.
DeleteEverything looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll pass that along to them. It will make them feel better about the shipment of furniture that came in two days later...which now has to be worked into the new layout somehow. :)
DeleteIt looks amazing, Dana, please tell them!! I wish it was in my neighbourhood! I bet my husband doesn't:-)
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely tell them, Tove. They love compliments. I wish we could do pop up shops in all the countries where my readers live...but you're right that significant others might prefer it the way it is. :)
DeleteLooks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nick! We're waiting for you to take a road trip and visit us.
DeleteI would absolutely love to!!!!! I'll definitely keep that in mind next time I need an excuse to go some place!
DeleteWe'll hold you to that! :)
DeleteLooks so great Dana. I reckon I'd be happy to have a job cleaning the floors in your SIL's store. It is beautiful and the all the pieces look fantastic.
