Hooray eBay!

I've been in an eBay frenzy for the past few days. There are several pieces I'd been watching that had the Buy It Now/Best Offer option, and I finally decided to make an offer on some of them. Imagine my surprise when the offers were accepted!

The Georges Briard ice bucket is from the 1960s and has never been used. The box even has a Green Stamps sticker on it. It cost 5 3/4 books, which was a pretty pricey Green Stamps purchase for a small item back then.

I also lucked out and got two great Raymor pieces with stickers still intact...a pitcher and matching mugs, as well as a footed bowl in two segments.

I'm still watching a few more pieces. When you're on a roll, who wants to stop?

  1. The ice bucket with Green Stamps? It's like it was sent through a time machine - sooo cool.

  2. Whoo hoo!

No matter how many disappointments I get from eBay, they are usually minor-moderate, and you cannot find the range of items nor the deals anywhere else but eBay lol...

  5. @1950sarh: I agree. You could go to a million estate sales and not find what you're looking for, but you can almost always find it right at your fingertips on eBay.

  6. @stacey: Yes, we've sold several pieces of furniture and tons of smalls. We're really pleased with sales so far. And to answer your other question, I used the company card to pay for all this, but I'm sure giving the 2-part bowl the eye...:)

  7. It's always amazing to find things from the 50's and 60's that are unused and in original packaging! I hear you on Ebay - I too have been perusing and buying lately. It's addictive!

  9. @sudha: Never fear...The bowl is actually two separate footed bowls that fit together. It didn't get broken. :)
