In the store: Bringing home the bronze

While my daughter, SIL and the boys were on vacation, there was supposed to be a moratorium on work, work-talk and even work-think...but of course my SIL couldn't resist checking Craigslist. It's a good thing, because he scored this beautiful side table by Warren Platner...and it's in the coveted bronze finish. Such a looker!

Here it is with carseats and pillows, coming home from vacation.
And here it is in the store, looking a little more dignified.

  1. I once dropped by a craigslist sellers joint to pick up a tulip dining table and when I saw a Platner table (much like this) in the living room the seller must have seen my eyes bug out a little cuz he stopped me before I could even ask!

    1. We sold a pair in the nickel finish, but this is the first time we've had bronze. I've never seen one of the bronze tables, so I can't wait to get to the store and take a look at this one.

    1. Once more, he hit the jackpot, for sure. He amazes me with his ability to find one beautiful piece after another.

    1. Yes, I think that falls in the category of things that are acceptable moratorium-breakers. :)

  5. Your SIL really has that sixth sense, the table is yet another one of his awesome finds and most probably another one that will go quick!

    (sorry about the deletion/mess)

    1. He really does. He's developed a real eye for great pieces and seems to know how to ferret them out even when they are listed incorrectly on CL and eBay.

    1. I find them very interesting too. Now we need to find the chairs and ottomans and sofas and dining tables in the same line. I'm not asking too much, am I? :)

  8. So pretty it deserves it's own pillow! Great find... I bet he was just jumping up and down inside.
I have always loved the Platner stuff but have yet to find any. Congrats.

    1. I think he was pretty happy to find this piece. He deals with so many beautiful things on a daily basis that he doesn't get quite as excited as he did when he first opened the store, but beneath that cool exterior, I can tell when he's found something he likes. :)

    1. I'd love to have one too...or two or three. Several months ago, someone in my neighborhood had several Platner pieces on Craigslist. Unfortunately, I didn't contact them, and it's driving me nuts knowing that furniture is somewhere a few blocks from me, and I have no way of figuring out where.
