Of course, the grandsons have had the spirit for weeks already, and they're ecstatic that the decorating of the main house is continuing nightly...layer by layer...and is starting to look like a genuine Clark Griswold design. My SIL has fond memories of his dad's Christmas decorating expertise, and I expect Christmases to come will see more and more elaborate additions to our front yard. When it's finally finished, I'll post photos. In the meantime, here are a few shots of my little modernist nest, holiday style.
Cactus comes back in tonight. Cold weather is due back.
|Tabletop aluminum tree...There's no room for a big one!|
An added touch to this year's decorations, at least till it rains again, is Grandson #1's signature on the front step, made all the more precious to Grammo that his D is backward, his E has LOTS of lines and he ran out of room for his N.
And nevermind the ever-present leaves. Even with constant leaf blowing, we can't keep them gone for more than a couple of minutes. I love our warm again/cold again Texas falls, but the downside is that it takes forever for the trees to become completely bare.
