Or could I interest you in a cocktail?

Meet the new teak tea cart that has become my bar. She's a three-tiered beauty that captured my heart the minute I saw her. The clear glass top has a 2" frosted band around the edge for added interest. The smaller teak cart that I've owned for years had been refinished by the previous owner, and the color was a tad too red to look good with my dining room furniture, but this one is just right. I've said my good-byes to the old cart and have moved it out to the workshop with all the other furniture that will be going into our soon-to-open store. (I'll be posting more about that in the coming days.)

The cart not only houses my wine, liquor and barware, but it also is home to my Kromex serving pieces, since my new china collection booted them out of the cabinet. My dining room has undergone a major rearrangement in the past week, but everything is settled in its new spot and looks rather lovely, if I do say so myself.

The search is on for vintage wine glasses and a cool ice bucket.

  1. Ohhhhhh it's so lovely!

I adore that shade of rich, warm wood color.

  2. @stacey, 1950sarh & Tanya: Thanks, ladies. My SIL bought it the other day because he knew I wanted it, and then he got all the mileage he could out of teasing and taunting me and saying he'd decided to sell it. Now he's having nearly as much fun telling people how his mother-in-law nagged him mercilessly till he forked it over. (Writing myself a note to go to the bank and get his money today.)

  4. I've gotta give credit to my SIL. He's can ferret out some great stuff! He recently found us a treasure trove of teak, which I'll be posting about the next couple of days.

  5. Ooooo, that IS nice! I love the gentle curve along the edges.

I'll have an Amaretto Sour please!

  6. @Mr.Modtomic: I'm fresh out of amaretto. But I do have all the fixins for a Harvey Wallbanger, which was a favorite of mine back in the 60s. Would that do?

  10. @stacey: Just call me technologically challenged. I wrote the text of that post and meant to save it till I take pictures of all the loot, but instead I hit PUBLISH. Of course, I had to delete it, but it went out on the feed unfinished. I promise that a completed post is coming soon though.

  12. @MoonDoggie: We were told that this tea cart came from England. I hope we didn't steal it out from under you. :)

  13. Do an ebay search for Fostoria glassware. I just picked up a set of 4 that will go nicely with my George Nelson bar cart.

  14. @Four Squares Per Inch: Welcome to my blog...and thanks for the tip. I'm logging out right now to go search eBay for Fostoria! I hope you'll come back often.

  15. I took the advice of Four Squares Per Inch, and I found some Fostoria glasses in the Pine pattern that I really like. I made an offer, so we'll see what happens.

  16. Yay! The seller accepted my offer, so I've started buying Fostoria Pine.
