Let there be light & some very cool cabinetry

The latest new items in the store are these beautifully refinished solid maple Paul McCobb Planner Group benches and cabinet. The modular cabinet has grass cloth sliding doors and is shown below on a tall base. It can also be used with one of the lower benches to create an entirely different look.

Another great find was a white Arteluce floor lamp by Gino Sarfatti. It has a leather-wrapped handle, a fully articulating head and a marble base.

    1. I think it's interesting that most people think modular furniture is something new, but several designers back then had lines with interchangeable pieces.

And, yes, when I finally decided to leave my settings alone, commenting became a lot easier for everyone! :)

  6. The McCobb set would be perfect for interiors in warmer climes; actually, that would be the perfect set for a rest house.

  7. It's wonderful pieces like that that make me weep hysterically every time I pass an Ikea. Ya knwo how people say "they dont make them like they used to." Well, I think they "should".

    1. They sure should...but then there would be no disposable furniture, and what would happen to all these greedy corporations that crank out low-quality merchandise so you'll have to buy more in a couple of years? Bless their hearts...
