MCM yard sale

Russel Wright collectors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area have something to look forward to over the weekend. On Saturday, August 18, Rob Kenny of modfather.com is hosting the first-ever Modfather Mid-Century Modern Garage Sale and Collector Get-Together from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. at 5126 Parkland Avenue in Dallas.

The sale will feature pieces by Russel Wright, Ben Seibel, Eva Zeisel, Paul McCobb and many other MCM designers at yard sale prices. In addition, there will be Raymor pieces, restaurant ware, Heywood-Wakefield furniture and Crate and Barrel wooden dish racks for storing your collectibles.

A number of local Russel Wright collectors will be setting up to sell, and you are invited to do the same, as long as you bring your own table.

  1. Wish there wasn't an enormous ocean between me and that garage sale Dana!

    1. That does put a bit of a damper on your coming, I'm afraid. Darn ocean!

    1. Aw, I don't mean to taunt all of you who don't live in the area!

  3. Oh. My. Gosh. I would have planned a trip to TX around this if I'd known about it sooner! While we've pared down our RW collection do lack of storage/display, I still love the stuff and would have been like a kid in a candy store at this event. And it was on my husband's birthday (he was an early fan of the line). Sigh.

    1. If it makes you feel any better, it POURED down rain and hailed almost all day Saturday at my house in Fort Worth, which is about 30 miles from Dallas. I haven't talked to any of the people who planned to set up tables there, so I don't know if the weather affected the sale or not.
