My very own Gus

We've been selling a ton of Gus* Modern furniture during the 20%-off sale (which continues until August 19). I finally decided to take advantage of the sale and buy the Gus* sofa I've had my eye on for a while. My SIL called yesterday to tell me it's in...and that he's going to deliver it tomorrow.

I chose the Rochelle in a fabric called Urban Tweed in the Truffle colorway, which is predominantly black shot with tan threads.

I can already feel the redecorating coming on. I plan to start with new pillows and probably a new rug. Maybe move some lamps and pictures from one room to another and even get a chair or two reupholstered.

Then the redecorating will move into the bedroom, since I recently bought a new quilt and shams from Crate and Barrel. When I change colors in the bedroom, I'll have some framed prints that will need to be hung somewhere else, which means the bathroom will get an overhaul too. Isn't that the way it always goes? Buy one thing new, and your whole house can change in the matter of a few weeks.

Something tells me that no one is going to have to twist my arm very hard to force me to shop...and I'll post new photos as soon as everything is done.

  1. Ooooh, I love it. I've been seriously considering the Jane for a while. I just hate paying retail for something, but I think these sofas are worth it. Maybe I'll have to take the plunge, too.

    1. The Jane is a great seller, and I love it too. I've been extremely impressed with the quality of Gus furniture since my SIL started carrying it. I'm considering buying the James Lounge for the grandsons' playroom for nap time.

    1. I have rearranged my living room in my head a million times, and I can't come up with any way to make that beautiful back show. The room is long and narrow, and I think having the sofa at a right angle to the wall will look awkward...but I'm going to give it a try before I make up my mind for sure.

    1. My SIL ordered an extra in a lighter Urban Tweed colorway as a floor model, and he said I could have it if I like the color better, but I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with the darker color. Either way, you'll see it soon.

  5. There you go, Dana the mid2mod customer. It must take supreme self-control not to keep buying from the shop, what with all the amazing pieces coming in.

I can imagine the Gus fitting nicely in your living room but yes, it's redecorating time! You have to share some pics when it's all put together.

    1. You have no idea how many pieces I've wanted to buy...and how many I hated to see leave the store. My SIL is much more objective about the merchandise than I am. He likes it. I fall in love with it.

    1. Oh, believe me, I'm getting a lot more inspired than my bank account can stand. :) I'm thinking it's time to list a lot of old cool stuff on Craigslist to make way for new cool stuff.

    1. It's such a departure from the color of my present sofa that lots of changes will have to be made. (I'm secretly saying, "Yay!" to that. I love change.)

  11. If we didn't have a 1927 bungalow I would have a hard time selling some of the pieces we have moved through the store. That Gus sofa is sweet and yes redecorating tends to snowball into other areas! Looking forward to the pics of your "new" surroundings!

    1. Yes, I would think having a 1927 bungalow would help with the desire to bring home everything. In that respect, you're really lucky.
