For the 15 years he lived there, Halston filled the house with friends like Bianca Jagger, Liza Minnelli and Jackie Onassis, and the partying was nonstop. The house features a central atrium, a narrow catwalk to a third floor bedroom, a floating staircase and two kitchens. It made such a splash that the New York Times printed the floor plan in 1970.
Subsequent homeowners have intentionally changed very little since the townhouse was first built.

Swoooon!
ReplyDeleteI can understand why no owners have changed much over the past 47 years. What's to change?
DeleteOh, that's just gorgeous!! I especially love the exterior!!
ReplyDeleteI find it stunning too, and I'm sure it stands out like a gem among the traditional brownstones.
DeleteBeautiful. It's like stepping back in time to the Studio 54 days of the '70's! I read a biography about Halston and he seemed like a really decent (along with being very talented with excellent taste) man.
ReplyDeleteCan't you just picture the Studio 54 crowd there, laughing and talking and having a great time?
