Gingerbread, as it was meant to be enjoyed

For decades, we MCM folk have been left out of the gingerbread house loop every holiday season, since most visions of sugarplums took place inside rambling old Victorian houses with lots of frosting, candy canes, gumdrops and (at the risk of stating the obvious) fancy gingerbread trim.

But those days are gone, because the inventive and artistic retrophiles among us have taken gingerbread house-making to a new level with the following architectural marvels:
